I launched Factory Berlin’s brand publication, Factory Magazine, to tell the stories of its community of entrepreneurs while engaging a global audience.
As editor-in-chief, I ran and oversaw the magazine between 2016 and 2018. During my tenure, we produced 50+ long-form articles illustrated with inspiring photography. We interviewed the founders and CEOs of some of the most influential brands and key technology players, including Airbnb, Y Combinator, Evernote, and Clue.
I developed formats and built the editorial strategy with emphasis on authenticity and reader experience. The interviews portrayed entrepreneurial journeys, providing a behind-the-scenes look into startup life: the initial struggles and triumphs of starting a new business. The features dug deeper into specific topics, collecting insights from industry experts. I wrote the majority of the articles and partnered with highly talented creatives, such as photographer Ben Fuchs, and writer Charmaine Li.
At the time of my departure, the magazine dominated page views on Factory’s website. The articles generated thousands of new visitors every month and were widely shared on social media.
